Help your Piano Look and Sound It’s Best
Piano Tuning
Tuning involves adjusting the tension of each of the piano’s strings to create uniform intervals and a clear sound. Tuning not only ensures your piano plays in standard pitch, but also ensures unison strings are well-matched to eliminate fuzzy or unclear tone.
Pitch Raise
If your piano has not been tuned for a very long time, your piano may need a pitch raise to bring it closer to standard pitch. This appointment takes longer than a standard appointment because it requires a two-step tuning process.
Action Regulation
Action regulation is a detailed service that involves working with the internal moving parts of the piano, the hammers, keys, dampers, etc. As in any complex machine, over time, the internal mechanisms of the piano action can become loosened, warped, weathered, or stuck from use and age. Regulating the action ensures all parts of the piano move are well-aligned and moving smoothly and efficiently.
Voicing
Over time and use, a piano’s hammers can become hardened and misshapen, causing changes to the piano’s tone. Hardened hammers with deep grooves begin to produce a thin, harsh tone. Through a process of careful sanding and reshaping, voicing returns the hammer felt to its rounded shape, softening and adding warmth to its tone.
